Hi I'm Charlie (Sharlene) and I am a Wedding, Newborn, Family and Events portrait photographer. This is my Photography Blog and is my place to share my passion. I like to capture moments as they happen, with a candid style involving minimal posing. Relaxed , candid portraits with plenty of fun and laughter. I live and photograph in Newcastle but also travel up the Hunter Valley, Central coast, Sydney and beyond My main inspiration is my family and friends and the environment in which I live.
I don’t often get the opportunity to take many photos of my eldest daughter, so yesterday I jumped at the chance. Taylor was walking around the house wearing these “nerdy” glasses (they are actually 3D glasses she dismantled) I thought it would make a cool pic, so here is the result:
I had the absolute pleasure on the weekend to be asked to photograph the Green family at Howes Valley ( which is about 45mins via Singleton on the Putty Road) in the Hunter valley. This family session was also a special gift to celebrate John’s 60th birthday and his son, Anthony’s(my brother in law) 30th Birthday. Thanks everyone for asking me to take these very special photographs. I had an absolutely awesome time!

I had the absolute pleasure to have a play and oh take photos too ,of Macs and his Mum today. I first photographed Macs when he was just 7 weeks old ! At 10 months old he hasn’t lost any of his cutie pie charm. He is so easy going and always seems to be pondering the world around him. I hope to photograph Macs for many years to come! Yes I know it’s another photo of my little one, but I just love it. Yesterday we decided to take some photos outside in between heavy downpours of rain! A sticky bribe didn’t go astray either 
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a photo from my ongoing “Project 365″. To be truthful I almost gave up a month ago when I was sooooo busy with client photos, but thankfully have hung in there. Taking at least 1 photo everyday isn’t as easy as it sounds!
Here is a recent fave. I’ve been hanging out to take a dark, underexposed photo where light illuminated the subject. I got the chance when I peered into my eldest daughters bedroom to see my youngest enthralled with her ipod touch.
